We respect the privacy of every individual who visits our website. We take great measures to ensure the privacy and confidentiality of any personal information on LocAZu.

Information we collect

You can browse LocAZu and listed study materials, course information and ratings, university information and reviews, professor information and reviews, textbooks, events, without telling us who you are. If you choose to provide us with personal information, you consent to the transfer and storage of that information on our servers located in Canada.

We collect and store the following personal information:

• email address for students who post content on the site including textbook ads, study materials, reviews, course, professor, university ratings;
• transactional information based on your activities on the sites, such as number of study materials and textbooks listed;
• correspondence through our site and correspondence sent to us;
• other information from your interaction with our site, including statistics on page views, and standard web log information;
• mailing address only if you opt to redeem your LocAZu A+ points into gift cards which need to be mailed; and
• additional information we ask you to submit to authenticate yourself (for example, to authenticate you in the case of a lost password) or if we believe you are violating site policies.

Use

Our primary purpose in collecting personal information is to provide you with a safe, smooth, efficient, and customized experience, and in the case of sharing study materials and trading textbooks, to facilitate the transactions. You agree that we may use your personal information to:

• email registered users to send them alerts of matching textbooks, events or study materials within their alert parameters only if the user opts for this feature (for example if a user creates an alert for Philosophy 101 textbook under $20 at UWO before September 15, LocAZu will email him/her an alert as soon as a book within this description is listed);
• to facilitate redeeming LocAZu A+ points into cash or gift cards via email, PayPal, or mail;
• to relay an email from a prospective tutor or book buyer (for example to determine book availability and purchase terms);
• to send a new password when using the 'reset password' feature;
• provide the services and customer support you request;
• resolve disputes, and troubleshoot problems;
• prevent potentially prohibited or illegal activities, and enforce our Terms of Use Agreement;
• customize, measure and improve our services and content;
• tell you about updates on new services and promotions from time to time; and
• compare information for accuracy, and verify it with third parties.

Your User Profile

Your user profile contains your email address and your display name. We will not make your email address available to anyone outside the site, including buyers of your books, or tutors --they message you through the Site, and don't see your email address unless you reply to them yourself. Only your display ID is used to identify you throughout the site.

Invite a Friend

If you choose to use the Invite a Friend service, we will ask you for your friend's email address. We will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the site. LocAZu stores this information for the purpose of verification, as well as tracking the success of our referral program. Your friend may contact us at contact AT locazu.com to request that we remove this information from our database.

Testimonials

We may post customer testimonials on LocAZu which may contain personally identifiable information such as the customer's name and photo. We do obtain the customer's consent to post their name and photo prior to posting their testimonial. If a consenting user later requests removal, we comply with the user's request immediately.

Facebook Connect

The Facebook Connect functionality allows users to login or register to LocAZu without going through the LocAZu registration or login. The intent is to enable users to register or login easier and without having or remembering a LocAZu password.

If you are already logged into Facebook and registered with LocAZu, you will automatically login to LocAZu when you click on "Connect with Facebook". If you are already logged into LocAZu but not logged into Facebook, when you click on "Connect with Facebook" you will be prompted to enter your Facebook credentials or to "Sign up for Facebook." By proceeding, you are allowing the LocAZu application to access your information to provide a personalized experience on the Websites, and you are agreeing to the Facebook Terms of Use in your use of the LocAZu application.

Conversely, if you are not currently registered as a LocAZu user and you click on "Sign in Using Facebook," you will first be asked to enter your Facebook credentials and then be given the option to register and join LocAZu. When users first register on LocAZu via Facebook Connect, a message is posted your Facebook wall that you have joined LocAZu. You have the option to disable Facebook Connect at any time by logging into "My Profile" and clicking on "My Facebook Profile." Further, you can edit privacy settings for the reviews that appear on Facebook or disconnect this service by visiting the Facebook Application Settings page.
