SO boring. He reads the textbook in 3-hour lectures whereas YOU can read your textbook in 45 mins by yourself instead. Tests are based on homework questions, so just do them. Oh yeah, he\'s one of those old-men-profs who give those pointless talks about "Do your homework. Don\'t procrastinate... cuz if you do... yada yada" for 15 mins per class. psh!

He just take the notes from the textbook, and although he may not explain abstractly, I still did well with him.

He\'s retried after 3210. Boring. Rips everything form textbook. Marking scheme is...interesting...he uses score of 1/9 on each midterm/exam question and gives you a letter grade based on that. Meangfin if you attemped a question and got it wrong completely, you get a D (3/9) on the question. But everything else about him sucks.

MATH 1131 with him was disastrous. Lessons presented in a very unorganized manner.

For test 1, 40% of the class failed and the other 40% got A or A+ while the rest were around C. Similar structure for test 2 and final. Tells you that his teaching method and exams do not help you succeed. So if you are already good at finance go for it, if you are not however, it is going to be very difficult.

very unclear lectures

I had Professor Poliakov a few years ago when i was a student. He was an excellent prof. Followed the textbook closely. No tricks or surprises on tests. Always willing to help students. If you want to learn, and want good grades, he\'s highly recommended!!!

Really good prof. very helpful and approachable. exams are good but need to know your stuff. fair marker. nice accent. hot for a prof.

Although the tests are not easy, he\'s a nice prof overall, at least helpful and easy to approach when you have problems.

He is a very good prof - oh so smart! He is willing to help. But goes pretty fast with the new material (not review from highschool). His tests are all very fair. If you study and do lots of problems from the textbook you will be fine!
