Relates to the student, brings the fun back into lectures

Really nice and approachable teacher. He knows so much about film it\'s overwhealming at times, but always very interesting. Tends to get on tangents, some of which are relevant and some of which are not, which can make note taking difficult. However, the midterm and final are fair and the course was excellent!

Not all that great at running a class. Sometimes his lectures are helpful, but he directed too much attention to fixing stylistic problems (something that should have been covered in ENGL 1). He was a bit dry, disorganized, and disappointing. But he was a generous marker (I got an A+!).

Alex is a bit maternal but she challenges the students who want to be challenged. I learned more from her about filmmaking than any other teacher.

Was one of UWO\'s "rock star" profs in the early 90\'s. Reviewed movies on TV, involved in building Western\'s Film program. Really respected the fact he made a committment to teaching a 1st yr course every year. An animated lecturer. Very knowledgeable. Smoked in his office, when such behaviour was permitted in the Ivory Tower. RECOMMENDED A+ Prof!

Very helpful with comments and feedback. Overall a really nice guy.

Great teacher, explains materials very well. Gives youi chances to hand in missed assignments. But you do have to go to class coz your attendance count. But overall he\'s one of the best english teachers. He also teaches film studies which is another great class. So if you need an elective, take his class.
