Bio:
Mark Reuten operates Nomad Boatbuilding., specializing in the construction and restoration of small wooden boats. Mark got his start in boatbuilding during an earlier career as a commercial artist and industrial designer when he started building canoes and kayaks for his own use. He went to study traditional wooden boatbuilding full time, graduating from the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding OM 1996. Mark has been building boats ever since, and participated in the construction of the 130' Grand Banks schooner Pacific Grace, whose home port is Victoria and has made several trips to the Eastern Arctic, working with Inuit elders to re-introduce traditional skin-on-frame kayak-building skills to the community in Nunavut.
