Bio:
James holds a Ph.D. in philosophy, and he is the author of The Mystical in the Early Writings of Ludwig Wittgenstein. While his focus is on metaphysics, epistemology and the mystical, the branches of his research include Plato and the pre-Socratic philosophers, Eastern Philosophy (especially Nagarjuna, Yogacara idealism and Taoism), Spinoza, Hegel and Wittgenstein. James also has studied various forms of Japanese and Chinese poetry for twenty years. James believes that the connection between metaphysics and certain forms of poetry should not overlooked, as both seek to reveal the essential nature of a thing or an event in ways that conventional language or concepts will not allow.

Okay, james is a bit like the absent-minded professor ... which only endeared him to alot of us! He\'s an awesome instructor: very knowledgeable, fair, reasonable, laidback, funny, and self-effacing. I\'d happily take another course with him any day.
