Description: An introduction to Psychology, emphasizing the scientific method in the study of human behaviour. The course focuses on the history and methods of psychological enquiry, the phenomena of sensation and perception, and the fundamentals of conditioning and learning. Other topics, including human development, physiology, and the properties of language, thinking and states of awareness, will be selected at the discretion of the instructor.
Prerequisites: Note: PSYC 1215 can be taken prior to PSYC 1115 or vice versa or they can be taken concurrently. PSYC 1115 will also be offered by Guided Independent Study and via the Internet. See Registration Guide for details.
