Overall easy class, did not spend much time on it. Gives insane assignment with poor guidelines worth 15% of grade that gets presented to class. Gives practice tests and some of those questions are on the midterm/exam. Basically reads from powerpoints and makes class do some pointless group work. Overall easy class.
I will never forget all of his pearls of wisdom, carefully picked from the 'piles of manure' (aka UBC textbooks). He is a true leader and inspiration to anyone who plans on teaching or coaching. You will learn way more from taking one of Alan's classes then twenty lecture-style classes.
had him for cal II. He explains very well notes are crystal clear..i actually understood most of the things but his tests are pretty hard .. didn't do as great can only blame myself for that but HIS TESTS WERE HARD nothing like the homework questions in the textbook....
Alan pre america class was very interesting Learned a lot about natives of south america their lifestyle and architecture. He's test were easy. Make sure you read the text book and make extra notes. Pay attention to his lectures and you will A's the class.
Alejandra is an instructor who would needs to be in university. She is mostly depends on the textbook and the hand outs that she provides for the students and would not make the class pleasant for the students by the way she explains the subjects. A class needs an instructor to teach well and make the subject the she teaches clear for everybody.
