A beautiful campus with so much to offer, so many places to sit and study or just hang out. The profs I've had in first year were not very passionate but I suppose that's because of the huge numbers of first year students in Science. Once you're in second or third year though, they get a lot better, especially if you're not in a degree with tons of people (ie: Biology). One thing I hate though: how difficult it sometimes is to get around in between classes!

Before I started, I heard UBC instructors were great researchers, but not teachers. I have to agree that this is sometimes the case, especially within some of the older generation profs. However, I think UBC is hiring more profs that are enthusiastic and caring. I've noticed the faculties themselves have focused a lot on programs to try and improve the learning experience. To sum it up, UBC is currently a step up from decent in learning quality, but I think it's walking down a good path.

One thing I have to say about UBC is DON'T get fooled by the Lipdub video on Youtube. I get asked all the time from friends from sfu and langara about the school spirit and clubs, etc...and it's not that great ! All that aside it's still my school so I love it :)
